Girding my professional life is my lifelong work as a singer-songwriter. Music is the place where I learned how to balance collaboration with independent creativity, writing lyrics and condensing a message down to its essence so it resonates with people.
Do your projects sometimes languish in a whirlpool of indecision or too much input? Having worked at both extremes, with "too many cooks in the kitchen" and too few accountable volunteers, I know the value of being organized, working with a team, and maximizing resources. Communicating clearly and decisively, I make sure that all stakeholders feel that they are being heard. Then, my specialty is, outlining "unless-I-hear-from-you-otherwise" next steps required to move things forward.
A great song, delivered with impact, has a lot in common with an effective marketing effort. It can't be faked. I wrote my first song, about how annoying my younger sister was, when I was about 10 years old. All four of us girls still remember it. Was it good? I don't know, but it was definitely memorable. Nowadays, I won't sacrifice one for the other. I deliver both "good and memorable!" ~ BQ
